Step 01
~ 5 min online
Booking is online, through Jane App.
Choose New Patient Examination on the Jane App calendar, pick a
time that works, and enter your details. You’ll get a confirmation
email immediately.
If you’re unsure whether chiropractic care is the right fit, send
a quick note through the contact page
first — a brief description of what’s going on is enough for us to
point you in the right direction before you book.
Step 02
~ 10 min, day of
Intake forms are sent to your inbox.
After booking, Jane App sends a secure link to the new-patient
intake forms. Filling these out before you arrive saves time on
the visit itself and lets us spend the appointment on examination
and treatment rather than paperwork.
Forms cover health history, current concerns, medications,
previous imaging or treatment, and consent. Information is held
in compliance with PIPA and CCOA privacy standards.
What to bring.
First-visit checklist
- Health insurance details (if you plan to claim)
- Any previous imaging or specialist reports relevant to the concern (optional, but useful)
- List of current medications and supplements
- Loose, comfortable clothing — or change there
- A clear sense of one or two things you’d like to be able to do that currently feel limited
None of these are strictly required for a first visit — if you
don’t have them or aren’t sure, come anyway. We’ll work with what
we have.
What to wear.
Loose, comfortable clothing that lets us see and assess movement
— soft pants or athletic shorts, a t-shirt or tank top. Avoid
thick belts or buckled jeans for the lumbar exam. There is space
to change at the practice if it’s easier.
For pediatric and pregnancy visits, we adapt — comfort and dignity
come first, and gowns are available where useful.
Step 03
45 minutes
The visit, in plain terms.
00:00 – 20:00 — History. A careful conversation about
what’s going on. We’ll ask about onset, behaviour, what makes it
better or worse, your past health history, and your goals.
20:00 – 40:00 — Examination. Postural and movement
assessment, orthopaedic and neurological testing as indicated,
palpation, and any other tests appropriate to your presentation.
40:00 – 50:00 — Findings & consent. A clear summary
of what we found, what we think is going on, and what — if
anything — chiropractic care can offer. If care is appropriate,
we walk through the proposed plan and the consent process.
50:00 – 60:00 — Treatment (if appropriate). Your
first treatment is included in the New Patient Examination when
it’s clinically indicated. If it isn’t, we’ll say so.
Informed consent.
Under the College of Chiropractors of Alberta standards in effect
informed consent is part of every chiropractic
visit. You’ll know what we propose to do, why, what alternatives
exist (including doing nothing), the realistic outcomes, and any
material risks.
Consent at this practice is not a form to sign — it’s a
conversation. You can ask questions at any point, decline a
specific technique, or stop a treatment partway through. None of
that is unusual; it’s how the system is supposed to work.
After your visit.
You’ll leave with a clear summary of what was addressed today,
what to expect over the next few days, anything you can do at
home, and the proposed schedule for follow-up.
Some patients feel an immediate change; some feel a delayed
improvement over 24–72 hours; some experience temporary muscular
soreness similar to after a workout. All are normal and short-lived.
Fees & insurance.
New Patient Examination — $115. Standard chiropractic
treatment — $65. Extended Treatment — $95. See the
services page for the full list and what each visit covers.
Most extended health benefit plans cover chiropractic care to
varying degrees; check your plan’s specifics. Direct billing is
available with select insurers — please ask in advance if it’s a
requirement for you. Otherwise, payment is at the time of visit
and we provide a receipt for you to submit.
