What it is
The Neck & Jaw Specific Treatment is a focused appointment for concerns involving the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), the cervical spine, and the muscles connecting the two. Care often combines gentle joint mobilization, soft-tissue release of the masticatory and cervical muscles, intra-oral techniques where clinically appropriate, and strategies to reduce parafunctional habits.
Because the jaw, neck and surrounding structures share so much real estate, treating them together often produces better outcomes than addressing either in isolation.
What’s included
- Focused assessment of jaw, cervical spine, and surrounding muscles.
- Gentle joint mobilization techniques.
- Soft-tissue release of masticatory and cervical muscles.
- Intra-oral release where clinically appropriate (with consent).
- Self-care strategies — parafunctional awareness, jaw posture, soft-tissue routines.
Who it’s for
Patients experiencing jaw tension or pain, jaw clicking or popping, tension-type or cervicogenic headaches, facial pain, ear pressure without infection, or restricted mouth opening. Many patients are referred by dentists, orthodontists, or massage therapists.
If your concern is acute, severe, or involves significant trauma to the jaw or face, please consult your physician or dentist first.
The jaw rarely works in isolation — and treating it that way rarely works.
What patients say
My jaw pain had been dismissed for years as just “stress.” Two sessions in, the clicking is gone and I sleep better.
I had no idea my headaches were connected to my jaw. The combined treatment made the difference.
